Where to Aim in the Corner Pocket


When the object ball is lined up directly in front of the pocket as in position A above, the target is the center of the back of the pocket. Example B shows how the target has shifted to the left with the object ball further to the right. Examples C and D show how the target shifts further away from the center of the pocket as the object ball rests closer to the rail. Remember to adjust your target in the pocket to the location of the object ball.

Shooting Balls Down the Rail


There are a few things to consider when choosing your target on shots near the rail. Position A in the diagram above shows where to aim the stripe on tables with pockets of average difficulty. Notice that the channel allows for contacting the rail in front of the pocket. Under normal playing conditions.
